Mobile App Design for security services
The ultimate tool for safe and successful events
iSECURiTY is an innovative app for efficient event security management. It connects teams in real time for monitoring, instant communication, and fast access to vital tools. With AI alerts and live personnel mapping, it keeps information flowing smoothly, helping teams respond quickly and keep events safe.
starting thoughts...
As part of a university project, I created a "controller" interface for managing security at festivals. I identified challenges like slow communication, difficulty tracking personnel, and outdated tools. This inspired me to design a user-friendly solution focused on speed, clarity, and collaboration.

Turning complex challenges into simple solutions
During my research, I discovered that the challenge isn’t just managing security but creating an environment of confidence and control. The focus is on reducing the stress of unpredictable situations by providing real-time updates, reliable tools, and seamless communication. My goal with iSECURiTY is to ensure every team member can perform effectively, knowing they are supported by a system designed for clarity and efficiency.

Camera Selection and Focus
Camera Selection and Focus (Camera View): The user accesses the camera feed, selects a specific camera to get a detailed view of a certain area, and monitors it in real time.
Location Tracking
The map displays hot spots for events, allowing the user to track the location of guards, guests, and key areas in real-time.

Inter-Team Communication
Communication among guards is managed through a chat feature that includes emergency message templates, allowing quick alert dispatch to other guards with one click.
Emergency Management
- Activate Emergency Mode: In the event of a threat, there's an option to initiate an emergency protocol, including a call to the police and automated alerts sent to relevant teams.
- Critical Action Confirmation: Every critical action, such as confirming entry or ending an event, requires additional operator approval.

primary research
Based on personal interviews with security personnel and event organizers, I identified the key challenges faced by security teams during large-scale events. A recurring theme was the need for fast and clear communication between on-site teams and the control room, as well as the difficulty in tracking the location of personnel and guests in real time. Additionally, existing tools were often described as cumbersome and poorly adapted to challenging conditions, such as low-light environments in clubs and parties, or emergency situations requiring immediate responses. Many also emphasized the importance of systems capable of automatically detecting and alerting suspicious activities to reduce human error and improve response times.
With these insights, I decided to develop iSECURiTY, an innovative interface designed to address these challenges. The platform integrates biometric identification for quick access, real-time camera and map views for efficient tracking, and AI-powered systems to detect and alert suspicious activities. It also features an intuitive chat system for instant communication and tools for managing emergencies, such as direct calls to the police and critical action confirmations. The interface was specifically designed for high-pressure environments and low-light conditions, focusing on simplicity, speed, and efficiency.
iSECURiTY was created to directly address the pain points identified during my research, ensuring that security personnel can operate confidently, quickly, and accurately while maintaining the safety and integrity of the event.

flow & Design Exploration
At the start of the design process, I focus on mapping the user experience to understand their journey, needs, and challenges. This step lays the groundwork for a clear and functional interface. Following that, I move into the design exploration phase, experimenting with various sketches, visual styles, and creative ideas to develop a solution that balances efficiency with a compelling visual identity.

Visual Style
I designed an interface optimized for both tablets and smartphones, ensuring that every user has the best possible experience for seamless and clear communication. In terms of color palette, I chose a dark blue base complemented by light blue highlights to emphasize key buttons and actions. The dark tones enhance readability, especially in low-light or nighttime conditions.
For the design style, I opted for sharp edges and a vintage aesthetic, inspired by retro interfaces and science fiction themes from films and series like Westworld. This approach conveys a sense of innovation while reflecting the focused and secure environment required for event management and security operations.
